Rebekah from A Blissful Nest created an adorable Christmas party with bright, fun colors.  I love every little detail that she incorporated into the party.  She shares tips for the projects she did in today’s post. 

This collection is near and dear to my heart as this holiday season is all about family and being together (more so than ever!). I love modern but I really wanted this to still have a very classic feel. So the traditional red and forest green got a pop of lime green added to it. Coming from a designer background, I LOVE layering patterns and I have a mild form of addiction to the chevron stripe. Just mild. =)I found a classic dot fabric that I feel adds a classic base and repeated this into my patterns in the printable decoration set.

I created this berry backdrop for the dessert table from a berry branch (that was purchased at Michael’s last year at the end of the season for 60% off!!) and these decorative wood pieces (also in the sale bins at Michael’s). I spray painted the stars red and the letters in gold and adhered them together using wood glue. Then hot glued ribbon to the backs and tied them to the draped branch. SOOO easy!!

I am a sucker for cupcakes and love to dress them up as much a possible! I was so honored to work with Brittany of Edible Details to make these custom fondant toppers to match my collection. She also adorned our cake by Baby Boy Bakery with these fondant holiday glitter ornaments and holly leaves. These darling cake pops got a little fun treatment with these flags. So easy to print on matte adhesive paper and cut out! Yummy sugar cookies also get some extra decoration with some fondant toppers with little holly leaves on them.

Our “wishing” tree was the idea behind this collection. Meant to inspire each person and to share each family members dreams and wishes for the new year. I took branches from the yard and spray painted them the same color as the stars hanging from the berry branch. The sprayed them (once dry) with adhesive spray and showered them generously with red glitter. Last year I picked up these glitter clips on sale (but would be easy to make in the same way as the branches). Using the glitter clips each wishing card (made by using our printable tags) is attached to the tree with the wish written on the back and read to the family after the big Christmas meal.

A hot cocoa bar is the hottest trend right now. Homemade marshmallows on peppermint swirl sticks are the perfect accent for yummy cocoa. This cocoa was peppermint cocoa! I have been obsessed with peppermint this year and everything I make has to have it in it. Our cute printable tags caution little ones that the mugs are hot, hot, hot! I just printed a solid sheet of our coordinating chevron pattern to line the marshmallow tray.

Next to our buffet of sweets were potted rosemary topiary trees. They smell so yummy and are so festive! I adorned them with these candy wreaths I made with my daughter. Super easy and gets rid of that left over candy laying over from Halloween (maybe?) or another party. Just get styrofoam wreaths from Michaels and hot glue the candies on in a fun pattern. Then glue a ribbon to the edge to finish off the sides. Tie on a coordinating ribbon and for these I used flower picks to stick them into the pots. Voila!
