J + M: Kauai 2012

I never anticipated 30days turning into a daily thing for me when I started it in 2007.  I just wanted a place to share my favorite posts and ideas. Somehow over the years it has grown into a five day a week thing.  It’s awesome.  And yet, sometimes it can feel a little overwhelming with everything else I have going on in my life.  Three active kids, involved in church, fun friends, QBM, family and more…  In talking with other blog friends- it seems I’m not alone.  (right?)
Last week Josh and I were able to get away- our moms took over our crazy kids so we could go on vacation to Kauai.  It’s been a super busy year and our vacation couldn’t have come at a better time.  We hadn’t gone away, just the two of us, (other than a night here or there) since 2006.
It was exactly what we both needed- to just relax and spend time together.  We ate great food, sat on the beach and by the pool, toured the island, played games, laughed, talked, talked and talked some more.  A wonderfully fabulous week together that I will cherish forever.

Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed with everything you have going on?
How do you unwind?

Week(s) in Pictures

Every year I think that I will be super good and have everything finished for Christmas months in advance. Every year I am dead wrong.  This time last year? Nuts.  Even though I wasn’t finished months in advance, all presents are wrapped and under the tree.  Woohoo!!
Luckily I’ve instagrammed our crazy weeks all along the way.  Not only is Instagram awesome but there are some seriously great things you can do with the images.   Have you heard of StickyGram? Turn your Instagram pics into magnets! And Postal Pix will print your images in Instagram sizes.  Sweeeet!

Life in Pictures, Instagram Style

Adding one more thing to the list….Instagram (iPhone app). Have it? Use it? Love it? I’ve had it for awhile but didn’t really mess with it too much. Yesterday I did. And now I’m hooked.  And Jeannett also forced me to use it so I could link up to her InstaFriday. She’s mean like that.   Anyhow….it’s an easy way to document life as it goes full force around me.  This week has been NUTS!

  1. My “baby” turned 5 on Tuesday.  As much as I’ve been sorta eager for my kids to grow up and get bigger, I was surprised at how sappy I’ve been this week with him turning 5.  Feels weird.  My baby. 5.
  2. I got a happy delivery from Knitty Bitties.  A bright, cheery mug rug.  It’s perfect for my Dr. Pepper.  Thank you A!
  3. Took the kids to the library and let them pick out what they wanted.  A little after we got home, I found my daughter snuggled up in our big overstuffed chair reading.  Yessssss! Love it.
  4. Open House #2 this week and a little stop off at the park next door at sunset.  Bliss.
  5. My oldest LOVES swings.  As in, he would spend 24 hrs a day on one if I let him.  I love seeing him happy.
  6. Turned around and saw my boys walking along our paseo, follow the leader style.  It was cute.
  7. My favey picture of the week.  I looooove it.  (is it ok to say that?)  My girl is seriously growing up.  What a beauty- inside and out.
